With the hot summer months on us fishing early mornings is the best time to catch the bass when they are the most active. Small shiners are producing 10 to 30 bass to be caught on a morning trip. Those anglers preferring to use artificial baits can catch the schooling fish on top water, rattle traps, and then when the action slows down try throwing a plastic worm to catch a few more fish. Those anglers preferring pan fish blue gills are bedding on the new moon and full moon once located, limits should be easily caught using crickets and red wiggler worms.
